Hello Friend, to Ennis and his Green Mercedes Benz with Love

The only son of Bill Cosby, Ennis Cosby was shot at 27 years old. Ennis was pursuing a doctorate degree in special education at Columbia University’s teaching college. In January 1997, Cosby was in Los Angeles visiting on his winter break. He was driving north on Interstate 405 at 1AM when he pulled over to change his flat tire on his dark green Mercedes Benz. 

Ennis called his girlfriend Stephanie Crane for help. She pulled up behind Cosby and insisted that he should call a tow truck. Ennis was adamant that he could fix it himself. As Crane sat in her car, Mikhail Markhasev approached her and said “Open the door or I’ll harm you.” Crane frantically drove away, hearing a gunshot from the distance. She immediately turned around and the man was running away while Ennis was shot in the head laying in a pool of blood. It was assumed that this was a failed attempt of robbery.

Bill Cosby was on set for his new series, Cosby, when the producer informed him of his sons death. The media responded with outpouring support to the Cosby family, and Markhasev was sentenced to life in prison.
